🛡️ COPPA Statement — Children's Online Privacy Protection Act PartyOS is designed exclusively for use by parents, guardians, and adults (18+) to organize birthday parties. We do not knowingly collect, store, or process personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted information through this service, please contact us immediately at the address below so we can delete it.

1. Who We Are

PartyOS ("we", "us", "our") is a web-based birthday party planning tool available at https://birthday-party-os.pages.dev. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our service.

2. What Information We Collect

PartyOS is designed with a privacy-first, local-first architecture. The majority of your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to enable cloud sync:

LocalStorage (Default): All party data (guest names, dietary restrictions, RSVPs, budget items, wishlists) is stored locally in your browser's LocalStorage. This data is not transmitted to our servers.
Supabase Cloud Sync (Optional): If you choose to connect your own Supabase account, your party data is stored in your own Supabase database. We do not operate or have access to your Supabase instance.
Weather Data: We send your city name to Open-Meteo's public API to retrieve local weather forecasts. No personally identifiable information is included in this request.
Photos (Optional): If you use the Live Mode photo upload feature and have Supabase configured, photos are stored in your own Supabase Storage bucket.

      PartyOS does not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third-party advertisers or data brokers. We do not display targeted advertising.
    

3. Dietary & Health Information

PartyOS allows you to record guest dietary restrictions and food allergies (e.g., peanut allergy, gluten-free, lactose intolerant). This information is stored locally in your browser or in your own Supabase database. It is never transmitted to us or shared with third parties. This feature is provided as an organizational convenience only — it is not a medical advisory tool. Always consult with guests and food providers directly regarding life-threatening allergies.

4. Cookies & Tracking

PartyOS does not use third-party tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or behavioral analytics tools. The only browser storage we use is localStorage to remember your party data and settings (such as your Amazon Associate Tag and Supabase configuration) between sessions. No third-party cookies are set.

5. Third-Party Services

Open-Meteo (Terms): Free, open-source weather API. City name is sent to retrieve forecast data. No personal data is included.
Supabase (Privacy Policy): Optional. Used only if you configure your own Supabase project. Data is stored in your account, not ours.
Cloudflare Pages (Privacy Policy): Hosts our static web application. Standard server access logs may be collected by Cloudflare per their policy.
Amazon Associates Program: See Section 6 below.

🛒 Amazon Associates Disclosure PartyOS participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program. When you click product links in the Gift Registry and make a purchase on Amazon.com or Amazon.ca, PartyOS may earn a small commission (typically 1%–4.5% depending on category) at no additional cost to you. This helps support the development of PartyOS as a free tool for parents.

6. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

PartyOS is intended solely for use by individuals who are at least 18 years of age. While our service is used to organize children's birthday parties, the app itself is operated by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Guest information entered into the app (such as a child's name appearing on a RSVP) is entered by the adult user and stored locally on their own device or their own Supabase instance.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided personal information through this service without your consent, please contact us and we will promptly delete such information.

7. Liability Waiver Notices

The digital liability waiver feature (available in the RSVP module) is provided as an organizational convenience for party hosts. PartyOS makes no representation that electronic checkbox waivers constitute legally binding agreements under any jurisdiction. Users are strongly advised to consult with a qualified attorney in their state or province regarding the enforceability of digital waivers before relying on them for liability protection.

The bounce house wind speed safety alert feature is for informational purposes only and does not constitute professional safety advice. Always consult with your inflatable equipment provider before setup.

8. Data Retention & Deletion

Since your data is stored locally in your browser, you can delete it at any time by clearing your browser's LocalStorage or using your browser's "Clear Site Data" function. If you have connected Supabase, you can delete your data directly from your Supabase dashboard.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of PartyOS after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
